The details

Enjoy a luxury glamping experience set among more than 15 acres of rich woodland and meadows in Nottinghamshire at Birdholme Glamping. Nature is the perfect backdrop to this getaway, with a pond and a winding stream working its way through the site.

There are seven self-catering safari lodges to choose from, five of which sleep up to four adults and two children and two that can accommodate up to six adults. Each interior is stylish and elegant in its decoration and furnishings, with the open plan lounge acting as the social hub. A log burner and underfloor heating keep the lodges toasty and warm, while a TV and WiFi throughout provides the entertainment. This flows into a dining area and a fully equipped modern kitchen, fitted with a hob, fridge, and dishwasher.

Each lodge has a king bedroom and one twin bedroom, as well as a further double mezzanine which is ideal for children. There is a bathroom, which includes a shower, basin, and toilet. Outside is a private hot tub on the veranda, accessed by glazed patio doors. This can be enjoyed all year round, whatever the weather.

The natural woodland is responsibly maintained, with the lodges designed to have as little impact on their environment and wildlife as possible. Those staying can sit back with a drink or a good book and take it all in, or choose to explore a little further afield with many great walks right on the doorstep. There are also great pubs and restaurants nearby.

New for 2025 are two deluxe lodges, both of which sleep up to six guests. Otter and Kestrel are larger than the other lodges on offer, with their own private wrap-around decks offering you the chance to enjoy both the sunrise and the sunset in style. Inside, both of these lodges have the same layout, both featuring underfloor heating, super-fast WiFi and cosy log burners. Also, when you step outside, you’ve got a fab outdoor seating area with a firepit and a hot tub for indulgent soaks. To top it off, both Otter and Kestrel have the option of an additional sauna, which will be exclusively yours to use during your stay for an added charge of £50 per stay. The sauna offers you the chance to unwind in style, whilst making the most of the scenic surroundings.

Meanwhile, there is plenty to discover in the thriving county of Nottinghamshire. The historic city of Nottingham offers a variety of different attractions. The Lace Market is home to some of the city’s best bars and restaurants hidden along pretty cobbled streets. There is also St Mary’s Church, which features in the ballads of Robin Hood, and the National Justice Museum. Its history is brimming, with caves dating back to Anglo-Saxon times and the castle.

Stretching from Nottingham to Worksop is 30 miles of woodland and heathland known as Sherwood Forest. Made legendary by the famous outlaw Robin Hood, there are now many nature walks and trails to discover - as well as the many grand houses and country park estates.

Just returned from our stay at Birdholme and me and my boyfriend feel so happy and relaxed! Absolutely spotless on arrival, great facilities including a hot tub and fire pit. Such a peaceful location and lots to do nearby. Thoroughly recommend!

A really lovely place, the accommodation is as pictured (which is always nice). The family and I (which include two little ones 1 & 3), it worked in terms of space, finish and style. But even if you were a couple it would be just as good. The weather was mixed but we managed to make the most of the surroundings. The facilities are great, camp fire BBQ, covered terrace, hot tub, underfloor heating throughout, comfy sofa, brilliants beds, and the highway for the kids is great for playing. Really enjoyable place, would certainly return.
