Inspired by a range of design movements, Boundary has given an exquisite aesthetic to its rooms and suites in London’s Shoreditch. With Sir Terence Conran one of the name’s behind the project, Boundary combines accommodation with restaurants and a popular rooftop garden looking out across the city.
The collection of rooms, lofts, studios and suites give guests the chance to choose a place which suits their style. The bedrooms occupy the building’s first and second floors, each one individually designed. Rooms are spacious, with the corner rooms even larger – and benefitting from plenty of natural light.
Admired designers from across Europe have inspired the look of Boundary. You may find Scandinavian, French or Bauhaus touches in the décor and furnishings.
The third and fourth floors are home to a selection of duplex lofts and studios designed by Sir Terence Conran, Lady Conran, Benchmark and Priscilla Carluccio. The Tang Suite, personally designed by Sir David Tang, is a double-width space with a separate living room and bedroom and many special lighting and design features.
There is much more to enjoy at Boundary, in the form of Tratra, the restaurant and wine bar of chef and food writer, Stéphane Reynaud. His first restaurant outside Paris, Stéphane is famed for his charcuterie, and this elegant dining room keeps top-quality food and wine coming until late.
During the day, there’s also Albion, the ground-floor café and food store which serves up great coffee and pastries from its in-house bakery. It’s more than a coffee place, though – you can get a full meal there throughout the day, with seasonal British ingredients forming the basis of most dishes. As its open to the public as well as guests, Albion serves as a hub for locals and visitors alike.
Don’t forget to check out the rooftop orangery during your stay at Boundary. Filled with citrus trees, it provides a fine garden space to soak up the sun during warmer months. When it’s cooler, there’s a firepit and hot cocktails from the rooftop bar, which also serves an all-day menu with a Mediterranean influence.
