The details
The luxurious log cabins at Foxton Locks Lodges are perfect for combining comfort, peace, and tranquillity whilst getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
There are six cabins to choose from. Fox’s Den, Pheasant’s Roost, Otter’s Holt, Squirrel’s Drey, and Owl’s Nest all of which sleep up to four guests, while Badger’s Set is for two people. All have been finished the highest standard and have been given their own unique and individual touches.
Each lodge has a large, open plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The living space is complete with a comfy sofa in front of the flat screen TV, while there is a dining table to enjoy the culinary delights cooked up in the fully equipped kitchen. There is a American-style Smeg fridge in each, along with modern appliances and all the cookware, crockery, and cutlery required. There is also underfloor heating throughout each of these holiday homes, which are set across one level.
The Badger’s Set has a king size bedroom along with an en-suite with a standalone bath and walk-in shower. Four of the five other cabins have two king size bedrooms, one of which can be converted into a twin room upon request to ensure maximum versatility. Both of their bedrooms are en-suite. Finally, the Fox’s Den has a double bedroom with an en-suite and a twin room that has access to a family bathroom.
With beautiful views across the meadows, there is just as much to enjoy outside as there is in. Each lodge comes with its own large decked area complete with outdoor table and chairs for alfresco dining prepared at the gas barbecue, and sun loungers to kick back and relax in. The ultimate touch of luxury is provided by the private hot tub that comes with each property.
Just a 15-minute walk from the cabins is Foxton Locks where narrow boats negotiate Britain’s largest flight of locks. A little further is the Rutland Water nature reserve - a reservoir that boasts sailing, windsurfing, and fishing, among other activities. Meanwhile, just five minutes away is the bustling town of Market Harborough with its independent boutiques and range of restaurants and pubs.
