The details

Perched on the breast of the River Teifi in beautiful West Wales, Fronteifi offers a stay shaped entirely by nature. These two luxury cabins — Afon Lodge and Tir Lodge — sit opposite the Teifi Marshes with uninterrupted southwest views, giving you front-row seats to glowing sunsets, slow-moving tides and a daily parade of wildlife. From the moment you step onto your private deck, the river stretches out towards the sea, shifting in colour and mood as the day unfolds. It is spectacularly peaceful here, yet just under a mile from the vibrant market town of Cardigan.

The sense of place is extraordinary. Foxes slip between the trees and, if you are lucky, an otter might skim across the river’s edge. Seasonal visitors arrive with the shifting months — goosanders gliding low over the water, migrating birds touching down on the marsh, bees drifting through the wildflowers around your lodge. Evenings bring new magic as the moon lights the river and an unpolluted sky reveals constellations, shooting stars and, on rare occasions, the Aurora Borealis.

Both lodges are designed to immerse you in this landscape. The southwest-facing terraces wrap around each cabin, with bi-fold doors that open into warm, modern interiors. Each sleeps two comfortably in a super-king size bed that can convert to twins, with two additional futons for children or extra guests, plus a cot on request. A wood burning stove keeps things toasty after days outdoors, while your private hot tub invites long, starlit soaks. Outdoor kitchens make alfresco suppers easy, whether you’ve gathered herbs from around the cabin or picked up seasonal local produce.

Afon Lodge sits closest to the river, offering level access and extraordinary sunset views. Tir Lodge mirrors its comfort with a slightly elevated outlook across open grassland and the Teifi Marshes. Both have WiFi, TVs, fully equipped kitchens, robes and slippers, dishwashers, EV charging and secure storage for kayaks, bikes or golf clubs. You can launch straight onto the river from the private slipway, fish from the riverbank, roll out your mat for sunrise yoga or simply sit quietly and watch the marshland breathe.

Cardigan is a leisurely stroll or a quick drive away, full of independent shops, great food and a friendly arts scene. Venture further for the golden shores of Poppit Sands, hikes through the Preseli Hills or wildlife-rich paths along the Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire coast. Whether you seek adventure or stillness, Fronteifi places everything at your fingertips while wrapping you in nature at its most abundant.
