Combine history and luxury at Great Tangley Manor, a manor house on the edge of the Surrey Hills that dates back 1,000 years. This Grade 1 listed holiday home sleeps up to 12 guests, is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and comes complete with an indoor heated swimming pool.
There are several spacious living spaces on the ground floor of this charming, luxurious manor. The library is furnished with comfy sofas and armchairs, as well as a large plasma TV, and is ideal for a cosy evening in. The drawing room also has plenty of places to sit and relax, along with a cocktail cabinet and French doors opening out onto the gardens and courtyard. Opulence is on show in the 16th century dining room, with a grand table seating up to 16 guests sitting in front of the panelled walls. The well equipped walnut and stainless steel kitchen also has a glass box table seating 10, and guests can take away the stress by choosing one of the hosts’ carefully selected caterers.
Two of the five bedrooms are found on the ground floor. Each bedroom is individually and distinctively designed. The John Evelyn bedroom has Art Deco furniture and views across the moat and can be a twin or double room, while the Oriental room has twin beds and painted furniture. Heading upstairs leads to the King John bedroom, which is the master suite and has Tudor windows overlooking the garden, as well as a large dressing room and ensuite bathroom with mirrored walls, twin basins, and a large bath. Finally, the Queen Mary bedroom is a double and the Alice Keppel is a twin, and both rooms share the use of a marble and chrome bathroom with separate bath and shower.
