The details
Set on the edge of Oxford’s beautiful countryside, this charming trio of Stargazing Domes blends boutique comfort with open-air adventure. Whether you’re travelling as a couple, family or small group, these beautifully crafted domes offer a unique escape where you can sleep beneath the stars without giving up modern luxury. Each dome has been thoughtfully designed to combine style, comfort and a close connection to nature. Dome One is the original six-metre retreat — a cosy 28m² glamping dome ideal for couples or small families. Inside, you’ll find a double bed and a double sofa bed, with a retractable skylight above the bed so you can gaze at the night sky from the warmth of your duvet. The interior is warm and inviting, featuring a log burner, mini fridge and basic utensils for simple meals. Toilet and shower facilities are located just outside the dome, maintaining that rustic glamping feel, and are shared with other dwellings on the retreat. Step outside to enjoy your private seating area, gas barbecue and fire pit — perfect for evenings spent under the stars. The newer Domes Two and Three take glamping to a new level of comfort and space. Each eight-metre dome spans 50m² and sleeps up to five guests, with a double bed, double sofa bed and a single pull-out bed. These premium domes include a private ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet, as well as a well-equipped kitchenette with a fridge, sink, toaster and basic cooking essentials. Retractable skylights directly above the beds and additional skylight windows flood the interiors with natural light and provide the ultimate stargazing experience. A log burner keeps things cosy on cooler nights, while the indoor dining area and soft furnishings add a homely touch. Outside, guests can unwind on their private patio, complete with a gas barbecue, fire pit and outdoor dining area, all set within acres of peaceful countryside. The domes sit in a tranquil location surrounded by scenic walking trails and open views, yet local pubs and shops are just a short walk away. The Queen’s Head in Horspath serves excellent Thai food, The Oxford Brewery offers craft beers and wood-fired pizza, and nearby pubs like The Chequers and The King and Queen provide classic country charm. Oxford itself is only a short drive away, where you can explore historic university colleges, climb the Saxon Tower or visit the Bodleian Library, while Shotover Country Park, Blenheim Palace and the Didcot Railway Museum promise wonderful days out for all ages.
