The details
Overlooking a courtyard in a hidden spot in St Ives, Iris is a recently refurbished cottage sleeping up to five guests. It's part of a handful of award-winning cottages which share the outdoor space and can be booked individually, or together for large groups.
Beautifully presented and decorated with chic nautical touches, the heart of the house is the open plan living area. This is located on the first floor under oak beams with skylights making the room extra light and bright. Up here you'll find the well-equipped kitchen with everything you need including double range gas cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher and a wine cooler - perfect for a crisp glass of white after a long hot day at the beach. Next to the kitchen is the dining table with bench seating and room for up to eight guests.
The living area is warm and welcoming, with a three-seater sofa and comfy armchairs by the fire, where you can while away an afternoon with a good book, or get-together after dinner and watch a favourite film.
When you're ready for bed there are two spacious bedrooms to choose from: the master with its large double bed, and a generous second bedroom which can be made up as a double or twin. An additional cot or camp bed can be provided for little ones. The bedrooms share a large family bathroom with a walk-in shower and a bathtub with a waterproof TV set into the wall so you can watch a series while you soak.
Outside you have use of the shared courtyard, with seating and a patio heater to keep you warm on chilly evenings. There is an outside shower to wash the sand off your feet and a selection of body boards you can use if you fancy catching some waves.
Iris is within a stone's throw of both beaches in St Ives, as well as all the wonderful restaurants, museums and galleries the town has on offer. Further afield Cornwall is yours to enjoy, with fantastic coastal walks, the Eden Project, St Michael's Mount and many more attractions within easy reach.
