The details

Set within rolling countryside in the south of the Dordogne, this beautiful private estate brings together two characterful stone properties to create one generous, flexible holiday home sleeping up to 13 guests. Designed for shared moments and easy togetherness, it’s an idyllic setting for extended family holidays, milestone celebrations or relaxed stays with friends, where space, privacy and comfort come in equal measure.

The main farmhouse is a striking, historic building defined by thick stone walls, exposed beams and vast fireplaces. Carefully renovated with the help of an interior designer, it retains its rural soul while offering refined, modern comfort throughout. At its heart is a large, welcoming kitchen where long tables, a wood burner and excellent appliances set the scene for sociable meals and slow mornings. From here, the house opens into a spacious sitting room with oversized sofas, another fireplace and doors leading straight out to the terrace, pool and gardens, encouraging an easy flow between inside and out.

Just a short distance away sits a charming stone cottage Le Mazet, adding an extra layer of flexibility and privacy to the estate. Ideal for couples, grandparents or anyone wanting a quieter retreat, it offers its own sitting room, kitchen and bedroom while remaining fully connected to the shared outdoor spaces. When the two houses are booked together, they function seamlessly as one large, exclusive stay, with all facilities shared solely by your group.

Outside, the estate really comes into its own. A private heated saltwater swimming pool sits at the centre, surrounded by sun loungers and far-reaching countryside views. Nearby, a beautifully converted barn now serves as a covered summer kitchen and dining space, complete with a barbecue and atmospheric lighting. This quickly becomes the social heart of the stay, hosting long lunches, relaxed games, sunset dinners and evenings that stretch well into the night.

Across the two houses are six thoughtfully designed bedrooms, all with their own ensuite bathrooms. The farmhouse includes three king size doubles on the upper floor, all air conditioned, alongside two flexible ground floor twin rooms, one of which can be made into a king size double and is wheelchair accessible. The cottage adds a sixth queen size bedroom, tucked into a naturally cool lower level. Throughout the estate, beds are hotel quality and dressed in Egyptian cotton, ensuring deep, restful sleep for every guest.

The gardens are expansive and gently landscaped, with fruit and nut trees, scented planting, open lawns and quiet corners for reading or reflection. There are also plenty of ways to stay active, from pétanque and table tennis to space for football, badminton and children’s games. Despite the feeling of seclusion, the wider Dordogne lies just beyond the gate, offering medieval villages, bustling markets, rivers for swimming and canoeing, vineyards, châteaux and some of France’s most important prehistoric sites. It’s a place that invites you to explore by day, then return home to reconnect over food, wine and shared time together.
