The details

Step into a world of coastal charm at this unique home beside Penpol Creek in the tranquil Cornish village of Feock. Just metres from the water’s edge, this one-of-a-kind retreat comes complete with its own private pontoon mooring, making it a dream stay for sailing enthusiasts and families seeking a waterside escape. Set beside a characterful working boatyard, the property brims with nautical personality, combining craftsmanship, heritage and comfort in perfect harmony.

Inside, every detail tells a story. Reclaimed maritime features and bespoke joinery blend beautifully with contemporary finishes. Solid chestnut floors and handcrafted cabinetry give the home warmth and character, while historic touches like the 19th-century keelson lintel add authenticity and soul. The light-filled open plan living space flows effortlessly into the garden, with glass doors framing views of the lawn and creek beyond. Here, evenings come alive under festoon lights strung across the pergola built from old boat masts, while the firepit with grill invites alfresco feasts and toasty marshmallow moments.

The kitchen is both beautiful and practical, fitted with a large double electric Aga and an island crafted from salvaged units. The adjoining dining area seats eight, creating a welcoming space for gatherings. Upstairs, a galleried landing and a 300-year-old grandfather clock set the scene for rest and relaxation. The master suite features a super-king size bed, walk-in wardrobe and elegant ensuite with bath and shower. Three further bedrooms – a king, a double and a playful twin designed with children in mind – ensure plenty of space for everyone. A second bathroom with a roll top bath and antique washstand completes the picture of understated luxury.

Perfect for cosy winter stays as well as summer adventures, the house offers a separate games room with table tennis, beanbags and a Smart TV, plus a roaring wood burner in the lounge for chilly evenings. The large garden, secure and private, is ideal for sun-soaked afternoons, games or simply sitting back to watch the tide roll in.

Feock is perfectly placed for exploring the beauty of Cornwall’s south coast. Wander along scenic creeks and woodland trails that hug the Fal Estuary, or hop on the King Harry Ferry to reach the Roseland Peninsula with its sandy coves and charming villages. Visit Trelissick Gardens for riverside walks and stunning floral displays, explore the maritime heritage of Falmouth, or enjoy a day in Truro’s cobbled streets browsing boutiques, galleries, and cafés. Sailing, paddle boarding, and kayaking adventures await right from your doorstep.
