The details

Surrounded by the breathtaking, rugged beauty of the island of Jura in the Scottish Hebrides, this charming cottage is the perfect place for couples to escape the busy everyday and reconnect with nature. Spend your days exploring the unspoiled landscapes, touring the famous distillery or heading out on a boat trip to spot seals and dolphins. Return to the cottage for a cosy evening gathered around the fire bowl watching the stars come out or indulge in a relaxing soak in the wood-fired hot tub and a session in the sauna.

This pretty little cottage is set in the crofting township of Knockrome on the eastern coast of the island with stunning views of the sea and The Paps. Step inside and you'll find a cosy hideaway with a welcoming open-plan living space. You'll be drawn through to the double-height lounge area with its beautiful exposed stone wall and comfy seating in front of a log burner. In the evenings, this is where you can put your feet up and relax with a dram of the local whisky.

There's also a well-equipped kitchenette where you can rustle up some breakfast before heading out to explore. You'll find a comfy double bed downstairs and an additional double mattress in the loft area accessed via a ladder in the lounge. Fluffy towels will be waiting for you and there's an ensuite shower room indoors or you can brave the outdoor shower for a refreshing way to start the day.

The cottage has its own garden where you can soak up the sunshine on warmer days and stay out late into the evenings with the fairy lights on and a fire crackling away in the fire bowl. Do a bit of stargazing from the comfort of the wood-fired hot tub and the electric sauna is just a few paces away. If you're feeling brave, you'll also have access to a cold water barrel for an invigorating dip.

There's plenty of exploring to do on the island whether you're interested in wildlife, outdoor activities, history or even whisky. There are hiking trails that take you through the beautiful moorlands and up into the iconic Paps of Jura, three mountains that offer spectacular views of the island and its neighbours. Along the way, you might be lucky enough to spot red deer or even golden eagles. Corran Sands is just a 10-minute walk from the cottage, where you can enjoy a stroll along the pristine beach or have a picnic overlooking the water. To learn more about the island's history and traditions, visit the historic Jura Distillery and take a guided tour to learn about the whisky-making process.

A very cozy, tastefully restored cottage with beautiful surroundings and views over the coastline and mountains. There's plenty to explore and see around the area and on Jura itself as a whole. Paying a visit to Lussa Gin distillery is highly recommended. On top of everything else, Pi is a truly awesome host!
