The details
Raven watchtower gives you the opportunity to be Lord or Lady of your own castle, immersed in the spectacular wildness of Northumberland and surrounded by nature. Escape the rat race and switch off with just the sounds of wildlife to relax you and views of the Milky Way from your own private battlement. You can enjoy the simple life without compromising on luxury. Climb the stone steps and enter the cosy lounge where you’ll find comfy seating, furry wraps and a rustic wood burning stove. Wallow in nostalgia by spinning a record on the record player and indulging in a cocktail from the drinks cabinet. Windows overlook the pine and birch woods around you making this the perfect location to snuggle up with a hot drink and watch out for deer among the trees. The kitchen with its island seating area contains everything you need to rustle up a delicious meal, including a gas hob, oven and grill, fridge, kitchen sink and dishwasher, but you might prefer to really connect with nature by cooking on the firepit outside. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time but with all mod cons. There are even marshmallows and treats for both you and your canine companion! The bedroom is bright, fresh and spacious and boasts a king size bed, luxury mattress and fine Egyptian cotton bedding. With idyllic forest views by day and the soft hooting of owls at night, it doesn’t get more relaxing than this. The modern bathroom is dominated by a huge, hand-crafted wooden bathtub for a soak with a difference. Lie back, press a button and watch the stargazing roof retract revealing the protected night sky. Romantic, dramatic, luxurious, a truly unique and memorable experience. There is also a shower room, flushing loo, fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries for your convenience. A telescope and stargazing kit are provided to help with your star spotting. By day, sit on the surveying deck and greet the sunrise bathing the North Tyne Valley whilst enjoying freshly ground coffee. From the Roman ruins of Hadrian’s Wall, 20 minutes’ drive away, and magnificent historic houses and gardens dotted around the county, to the spectacular scenery of the Northumberland coastline and the world-renowned Dark Skies at the Kielder Observatory, 30 minutes away, there are a multitude of places to discover, all within easy reach of Raven for those looking to venture out and discover what Northumberland has to offer. If you’re feeling more adventurous you will find fishing, cycling and numerous other activities on offer too.
