My partner and I booked Rhuroin for our honeymoon and had an absolutely wonderful time surrounded by the beautiful highlands. It was the perfectly peaceful and relaxing break needed following all our wedding planning. The kitchen was very well furnished with all the equipment we could need for self-catering and the wood burner gave the cottage a wonderful warmth.

We were so fortunate to find Rhuroin last minute when other plans fell through! What a place! The house is delightful and the location just perfect - views out of the windows constantly changing with the light and the weather. Deer appeared in the back garden while we were doing the dishes. We didn't see any pine martens, but I think the chickens were happy about that. We especially appreciated how well-equipped the house is, including some kitchen essentials we hadn’t thought to bring which allowed us to make pancakes (we didn’t quite get round to baking bread …) It is very clear that a lot of thought and effort has been put into the house. We wanted for nothing. We enjoyed swimming in the loch at the bottom of the slope, going out on our paddleboard and saying hello to the seals on the nearby island. Driving over the Bealach na Ba to Applecross and looking across to Skye and Raasay was a highlight of the trip, and we had some great low-level walks within 20 minutes drive of the house with our 3-year-old (she's not ready for the Munros yet...). Highly recommended as a base for a family holiday for Torridon and the Applecross peninsula.
