The details

The Grange is nestled away on a 260-acre Devonshire farm. Surrounded by rolling countryside and an abundance of wildlife, this five-bedroom holiday home is perfect for a peaceful, relaxing break with family or friends. As well as the stunning house, guests will have access to their own private garden and 34ft heated pool – which is available to use all year round.

The stylish property has been beautifully designed and decorated to match its idyllic surroundings. Inside you’ll find five spacious bedrooms, all with comfy beds (which can be configured as super king doubles or twin singles) and luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding to ensure a sound night’s sleep. There is space for an additional two guests to sleep on the fold-out sofa bed on the ground floor taking the total number of guests to 12. There are two shower rooms, one family bathroom with a freestanding bath and a changing room.

Meals can be prepared in the fully fitted kitchen, which features an induction range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, coffee machine and toaster. On rainy days, guests can relax in the living area which has a TV, speaker and fibre broadband. There’s also a designated office space for anyone who needs to keep on top of work.

Outside the house is the delightful quarter acre garden. A perfect spot to relax in the sun, have a dip in the pool or toast marshmallows around the fire pit as the sun sets. As the garden is fenced, it’s ideal to let your furry friend run free.

The property is found up a long private access driveway on an award-winning farm. The farm is home to hens (which will lay fresh eggs ready for your breakfast) dairy cows and geese, whilst deer, owls and rabbits are just some of your neighbours populating the nearby woods.

Guests are welcome to message the owners to help feed the calves during their stay, visit the dairy herd and see first hand how milk is produced, and to visit the honeybees and find out about these fascinating insects.

As well as exploring the wonderful farm, you’ll be spoilt for choice with things to do and sights to see in the local area. There is an array of scenic walks right on your doorstep, including footpaths leading to the charming local villages of Clyst Hydon and Plymtree, where you’ll find excellent pubs offering good food and a warm welcome. Further afield is the vibrant city of Exeter, full of independent shops, bars and eateries, as well as the Northcott Theatre and The Royal Albert Museum.

You’ll also be just a short distance from some fantastic beaches, including the sandy shores of Lyme Regis and Exmouth Beach (both around a 30–40-minute drive away). And if that wasn’t enough, there are two marvellous National Trust properties less than half an hour's drive away at Killerton and Knightshayes, both showcasing stunning architecture and gorgeous gardens.

We stayed at the Grange a couple of weekends ago, the weather was not kind to us but this did not spoil our holiday, the house was lovely and clean, fully equipped with everything you need, beds were very comfy and house was lovely and warm throughout. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was lovely and warm and quite big. We went on a tour around the farm with Harry who was lovely and had lots of knowledge especially on the bee hives, the whole place was quite and peaceful, the owner Louise was lovely and very accommodating and just a call away if you needed anything. Can’t wait to go again but next time for longer

We stayed here as a group of nine adults, one toddler and dogs for a 70th birthday party over a long weekend. We had such a wonderful time! The owner, Louise, was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to messages. She offered some great suggestions for activities in the local area too. The property is beautifully decorated and roomy enough for lots of people. We cooked up a storm in the kitchen and enjoyed meals together round the table. We didn't feel squashed or on top of each other at all. The garden is a real highlight, with a gorgeous pool and lots of apple trees with delicious fruit. It was wonderful to let the dogs free in the secure gardens - I've stayed at properties in the past that claim to have secure gardens, which then have low fences that are jumpable, or lots of gaps to squeeze through, which makes for a very stressful holiday! We had intentions of walking to the pub on Sunday afternoon, but didn't check the opening times - it closes at 6pm! It wasn't a problem though, as we all snuggled up round the firepit to drink wine and toast marshmallows. It was lovely to feed the chickens and say hello to the cows. We also saw a hedgehog and heard the owls calling every night - a real treat! It was blissful to be somewhere so quiet. We would definitely like to come back again, we all came away absolutely buzzing!
