The details

The Manoir is a stunning villa situated in Portugal’s spectacular Algarve region. Originally built in the 19th century and painted blue on the outside, this villa is framed by vines and hibiscus, fitting in nicely with its beautiful surroundings.

When you enter, you’ll love the fab outdoor spaces. Relax on a lounger by the side of the huge swimming pool, before cooling off with a dip in the water in peace. There’s also extensive lawns, where you can spread out and unwind, and a charming alfresco dining spot for summer lunches with your loved ones. And, to top it off, there’s also a superb yoga deck, with far reaching views of rolling hills and sprawling olive groves.

When you step inside, you’ll find the interior has been lovingly restored and designed to create a calming, tranquil atmosphere. Whip up delicious meals in the giant farmhouse kitchen that is nicely kitted out with all the appliances you need to prepare a feast. However, if you fancy cooking in the fresh air, you have two BBQs - one charcoal and one gas - that sit alongside a built-in pizza oven, with a covered dining area featuring a large wooden table right by the pool.

You can then dine outside on the raised alfresco dining spot, or take your meals inside in the stylish dining room with a huge antique table and big windows framing yet more amazing views.

If the weather turns, or you fancy a break from the sunshine, you can also hang out in the stylish lounge. This space has comfy furniture and marvellous paintings on the walls as well as a wood-burning fireplace for chilly evenings.

When night falls, there are six superb bedrooms on offer, three of which are on the ground floor and two upstairs. The last bedroom sits on a mezzanine level and has its own cosy snug and private bathroom. Crisp Egyptian cotton bedding and fluffy towels complement the charming occasional furniture throughout. Three bedrooms feature fixed air-conditioning, with additional portable units in the others, while mosquito screens on all bedroom windows ensure comfort and peace of mind. Guests enjoy luxurious organic, locally made hand soaps and toiletries, available for purchase during the stay.

The Eastern Algarve is the secret heart of southern Portugal, where unspoiled villages and whitewashed houses evoke a timeless charm. Explore Loule’s daily covered market, brimming with fresh fish, seafood, local produce, and handicrafts, and don’t miss Saturday’s bustling street markets. Wander the pedestrianised streets lined with independent shops and cafés for a relaxed taste of local life.

Faro, the region’s historic capital, offers a picturesque old town with its Gothic cathedral and Paco Episcopal palace, alongside lively plazas, pedestrian streets and a diverse selection of restaurants and bars, perfect for soaking up authentic Portuguese culture.
