The details

Originally built in the 1970s to store grain on a working farm, these two silos have been lovingly transformed into a beautiful rural getaway, breathing new life into the former working buildings. Situated on a charming farm in rural Lincolnshire, The Silos now offer couples a romantic bolthole in a unique and stylish retreat.

When you arrive, you’ll be blown away by the striking exterior, and when you step inside the agricultural, industrial edge is softened by luxurious touches, like underfloor heating, beautiful high ceilings and comfortable furnishings. The round rooms give a real sense of calm and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer lovely views of rolling countryside ensuring you stay connected to your surroundings at all times.

Get comfy on the sofa or armchair, which are both positioned perfectly for enjoying the view. And on warmer days, open up the bi-folding doors to really let the outside in. There’s also a wall-mounted smart TV here in the living area, should you wish to enjoy a movie night or box-set marathon.

Just off the seating area, the stylish kitchen space features sleek cabinetry and appliances, thoughtfully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals in comfort. However, on hot days, why not step out onto your patio and get grilling on the BBQ whilst taking in the view? You can then dine alfresco on the outdoor dining table, that offers the perfect spot for summer lunches or evening drinks as the sun begins to set.

When night falls, head to the superb bedroom, which features a luxurious king size bed dressed in Egyptian cotton bed linen. At the foot of the bed is another huge window, so you can wake up and enjoy that first coffee of the day under the covers whilst looking out across the fields. The Silos also has a modern ensuite bathroom with a rainfall shower. Luxury hand soap and body wash are provided.

Nestled in the heart of the countryside, Carr’s Lodge Farm may no longer be a working farm, but it still captures the essence of rural charm. Wander around the yard and you’ll find chickens and goose happily roaming in their fenced paddock. Feel free to offer them some grain and get to know these delightfully tame residents!

When you’re ready to step out and explore, the historic town of Stamford is just a stone’s throw away, with its collection of stylish boutiques, independent shops and great restaurants. However, no visit to the area is complete without taking the time to explore the incredible Burghley House, which is a mile as the crow flies from The Silos.

If you are looking for a more active escape, The Silos are perfectly placed for outdoor adventure. Explore scenic walking trails, cycle picturesque country routes, and uncover charming villages nestled in the landscape. For a full day out, Rutland Water is just a short drive away—ideal for cycling, hiking, watersports, or simply soaking in the natural beauty of one of the UK’s largest man-made lakes.

Bought a stay for my mother and father in law to celebrate their birthdays - they absolutely loved it & had a wonderful weekend break. Highlights for them were the outdoor bath, amazing views & a surprise trip with their children & grandchildren to a local restaurant. Georgina answered questions I had and kept me informed throughout - great hosts, thank you so much for making their stay memorable.
