The details

Hidden away in the heart of Staffordshire’s countryside, amidst enchanting woodland and lakeside gardens, you’ll find the Lookout. It is part of The Tawny, described as a ‘deconstructed hotel’. This means that you get all of the benefits of staying in a top hotel, such as excellent dining options, room service and a heated outdoor pool, along with the experience of staying in your own private space in the countryside. Spend your days exploring the estate’s 70 acres with beautiful views, five lakes and grand garden follies. Return to the Lookout to relax in your outdoor spa bath with a glass of something while you soak up the view.

Step inside and you’ll be immediately drawn to the wall-to-wall window at the front of the living area which offers gorgeous views over one of the lakes and the valley of the estate. You’ll be able to enjoy the view from the comfort of the sofa, while you're tucked up in bed with a cup of coffee, or from the magnificent freestanding bathtub.

The interior has been designed to feel luxurious and relaxing. The greens and oranges used in the colour palette are not only warm and welcoming but reflect the colours of the woodland outside. You’ll find a complimentary mini bar along with a coffee machine and tea selection and fluffy bathrobes and slippers. The stylish ensuite bathroom has twin sinks and a walk-through shower. Of course, you might prefer the outdoor shower or the spa bath out on the deck. Lie back and relax in your William Holland copper bath which is fitted with water jets for a spa experience and feel closer to nature as you soak up the scenery.

The Lookout is perfect for couples looking to escape the hustle and bustle, however, if you want to bring the kids along or a couple of extra guests, the Lookout Family is available. This features an additional twin room, furnished to the same high standard.

There’s plenty to do around the Lookout without even leaving the estate. Pack a pair of comfy walking shoes and wander along one of the pathways. You’ll find yourself meandering around the lakes, into woodland and wetland, packed with all kinds of flora and fauna, before heading back to the beautifully maintained gardens. If you fancy exploring a little further, the estate borders the Consall Nature Park with large ponds and more woodland paths to explore. After a long walk, enjoy a gentle swim in the estate’s heated outdoor pool before a drink on the terrace with stunning views of the gardens.
