The details

Just a short drive from Hadrian's Wall and an even shorter walk to the historic town of Hexham, you will find The Tiny Chapel. This aptly named Northumberland gem is a converted 19th century chapel and sleeps up to four guests across two ensuite bedrooms (perfect for small families). The Tiny Chapel has been meticulously converted by the owners, with modern conveniences working in perfect unison with period features. Such details include the original stone exterior, arched chapel windows, exposed timber beams, and a gorgeous, vaulted ceiling. And besides its abundance of rustic charm, is has all the mod cons needed for a relaxing countryside retreat. From the modern kitchen to the south facing stone patio and the private hot tub, you’re sure to fall in love the moment you cross the threshold.

The ground floor houses the gorgeous open-planned communal space. The kitchen area is well equipped with all the necessary mod cons and there is a dining table which easily seats four making meal times a joy. The living area has two comfortable couches, a coffee table, a smart TV, Bluetooth sound system with B&W ceiling speakers and a cosy wood burning stove to keep you nice and warm in winter.

Step outside the patio doors and into the back garden where you will find the decking area with outdoor furniture, a hot tub, and lovely 180 degree views of the Northumberland countryside. This is the ideal spot for a morning coffee or an evening soak in the tub with a nice glass of bubbly. Head back inside and ascend the feature staircase to get to the bedrooms. Both sit under stunning vaulted, timber framed ceilings, and benefit from an ensuite with a WC, basin, and shower. The master bedroom has a stunning hand-made timber king-size double bed with Tempur mattress, while the second bedroom has two equally lovely singles. The master even has its own free standing bath tub, which means you can sit back and enjoy a relaxing soak after a day out exploring the North East!

Nearby Hexham is a historic market town with lovely shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants. If you want to experience some of the arresting northern countryside, then you're in luck. The stunning Northumberland coast is within an hours drive with an array of historic castles and white sandy beaches. The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a short drive south of Hexham while Northumberland National Park is not far to the north. The ancient Hadrian's Wall is also nearby. Approximately 30-minutes’ drive east you will come to Newcastle upon Tyne. The largest city in Northeast England, Newcastle is a hub of science, finance, retail, education, tourism and nightlife. Notable landmarks include the Tyne Bridge, Newcastle Castle, St Thomas’ Church, the Millennium Bridge, St James' Park and Chinatown.

Super conversion of Chapel. Stained glass window from here now on display at Hexham Abbey. Has everything needed - even parking permit for use in Hexham and around. Nice location away from town/village with just farm animals & birds as neighbours. Owner, Steve, very responsive. Would highly recommend.
