You should know
- Just booking the main farmhouse means that other guests can book to stay in the adjacent cottage. However, both properties are separate and self-contained.
- In the main season you can book only the villa or the villa and the cottage. The cottage can-not be independently rented in the seasons when the pool is open

The details
If you’re looking for the ultimate Italian getaway, then Villa Capanne at the top of the Antognolla Estate is simply perfect. Surrounded by lush, green hills with views of a castle, you’ll find both charm and character at this beautifully restored 600 year old farmhouse and cottage.
Seclusion is the word here, tucked amidst the hills, with entrance to the estate only through guarded entry. Once inside take the original outside staircase to four spacious double bedrooms, all beautifully styled and benefitting from en suite bathrooms. Downstairs you’ll find everything you need for cooking up an Italian feast, including two ovens, gas range, large refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and coffee making machine. There is also a breakfast table with seating for six.
You’ll find plenty of space to dine, with a spectacular dining room complete with a large fireplace and antique French oak dining table, which can seat up to twelve. Kids (and bigger kids) will love the games room, boasting a snooker/table tennis table, sofa and sitting area plus a large selection of board and other games. Outside is a large terrace for soaking up the sunshine, an eating area and horizon swimming pool just waiting for you to dive right in.
At the adjacent cottage you’ll find a further two double bedrooms both with en suite. There is a fully equipped kitchen, and the living room even contains a wood burning fire with a built-in, fan-forced, pizza oven for the perfect margherita.
For a daytrip head to Florence, a city renowned for sculpture and art, only an hour and a half away.
