The details

Nestled on the tranquil shores of Naseby Reservoir and surrounded by stunning Northamptonshire countryside, this beautiful log cabin offers space for four guests (and dogs!) to relax, recharge and reconnect with nature away from the bustle of modern life. Rustic charm and simplicity combine with modern amenities to give you an unforgettable stay in the heart of Britain.

The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area provide guests with plenty of space to rest and play in comfort. Double bi-fold doors open onto a large, enclosed terrace that overlooks the stunning reservoir and offers a fantastic place to take in the lake views. Bringing the outdoors in, exposed wood and neutral tones throughout make Waters Edge Retreat the perfect place to reconnect with nature. As the evening draws in, warm yourselves around the fire pit, tuck into an alfresco dinner from the BBQ or watch the sunset with some bubbles in the luxury hot tub.

There’s plenty of outdoor furniture but should you choose to retreat indoors, throw some logs into the Charnwood wood burner, sink into the pair of comfy sofas and plan the next day’s adventures. After dark, guests can retire to either the inviting king size bedroom or the separate twin bedroom, each with an ensuite bathroom, and all supplied with luxury bedding and thick towels.

Wake up with the sounds of the birds and the lapping water of Naseby Reservoir. For breakfast, there’s a fully fitted kitchen with an oven and four-ring ceramic hob, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. Cookware, dinnerware and all utensils are provided for you to cook up a family feast whatever the weather.

Keen anglers can set up and cast off on the beautiful banks of the 93-acre reservoir that’s stocked with huge catfish, carp, roach, perch and pike. Don’t forget your binoculars either! Deer and other wildlife are commonly spotted from the terrace, and if you shift your gaze upwards, you might see one of the several ospreys, as well as countless other bird species that are in the area. Bring sturdy footwear and wander all the way around the lake… just remember that it can get muddy!

The historic and enchanting town of Market Harborough is just eight miles away and is bustling with independent shops to buy local goodies, as well as plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes to fill hungry bellies. Further afield, Oakham, Oundle, Uppingham, Stamford and Northampton all offer artisan shops and plenty of amenities. For an enjoyable day out, explore the mediaeval Rockingham Castle, explore nature at Stanwick Lakes or walk with some furry four-legged friends at Catanger Llamas.

Beautiful place to stay. Well equipped cabin, plenty in the kitchen to cook for ourselves and having all towels provided was a blessing. Good location too, lots around. Would recommend.

Really great lodge nice and remote great modern finish inside lovely surroundings Fishing is very much for pro carp anglers not have a go fishing unfortunately which I thought it might be. Bit disconcerting fisherman walking past the front windows with no front blinds or curtains But generally fanatastic spot we would highly recommend!!
