- ANKORYA is a fully off-grid, solar-powered chalet with 3.3kW panels and a 19kW battery bank, offering modern luxury and comfort - even on cloudy days.
- Dog friendly with generous gardens and outdoor sitting spaces.
- Access is via foot and can be quite steep at times. The nearest parking to Ankorya is a 4-7 minute walk along narrow foot paths.
- The access is best for those without mobility issues and packing light is essential.

This utterly charming seaside retreat offers couples a fabulous base by the Cornish coast with incredible sea views thanks to its position on a rugged cliffside. Ankorya is a beautifully constructed home that was once a modest tea hut and has been lovingly transformed into a superb off-grid romantic retreat with modern interiors and a truly private setting.
When you arrive, you’ll be mesmerised by the incredible cliffside location. Ankorya sits overlooking the beach below, where you’ll spot the still-visible engine boiler of the shipwrecked vessel Chancellor, which ran aground in 1934. Bits of the wreck can still be spotted beneath the ever-shifting sands below you.
Relax in the charming living room, where a comfy sofa and armchair sit next to huge floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea. You’ll also find a TV here for movie nights and a pair of binoculars for spotting wildlife at play in the water. On summer days, slide open the glass doors and step out onto your peaceful garden where an alfresco dining table offers the perfect spot for a long lazy lunch. There are also a pair of sun loungers outside for afternoons spent unwinding with a good book or snoozing in the sunshine.
Back inside, the home’s kitchen is nicely designed, and is equipped with everything you’ll need to prepare tasty romantic meals during your stay. Absolute idyllic location for a Whitsand Property. It provides a level of privacy not afforded to many properties in the area. It was glorious to listen to the crashing waves 24/7. The chalet has everything you need to self cater and I only left to go for glorious walks along the sw coastal path. The hosts were so communicative and friendly despite being elsewhere in the world. I would go back to Ankorya in a heartbeat.
