The details

Cairn Lodges provide the highest quality luxury accommodation nestled between Arisaig and Mallaig on the old coast road. Even your journey there will be a rare treat as you travel along the famous ‘Road To The Isles’. The West Coast rail track, that runs adjacent to the road has been described as one of the greatest railway journeys in the world.

Set in 15 acres of rural landscape, each lodge is built into the hillside with an elevated position, offering unrestricted views across the water to the Isles of Eigg and Rum and the breathtaking Cuillin Mountains on the Isle of Skye. All four lodges have underfloor heating and log burners for cosy nights and guests can enjoy the dramatic weather through the huge glass windows with a wee dram. The open plan living spaces provide plenty of light, and each lodge has been decorated to the highest standard with designer furnishings, wooden floors and charming grass roofs that compliment and reflect the rugged natural surrounding beauty. Each provides a top of the range kitchen, stunning bathroom facilities, and a modern, eclectic style that will cocoon you in luxury as you prepare to explore the Highlands.

Skye Lodge is the largest with three bedrooms that sleep up to six with two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite, and one bunk bedroom. It has a spacious living, kitchen, diner with a log burning fire and a lovely shower room just off the main entrance. The private decking area outside with seating and a log burning hot tub would have to be your first port of call. Jump in with a glass of fizz soak in the view.

Rum Lodge also boasts three bedrooms and sleeps up to six with two doubles, one with an en-suite, and one bunk bedroom. Whilst slightly smaller it has the same layout and provides all the same luxury comforts as Skye Lodge, including the much coveted log burner and hot tub.

Muck Lodge is a luxury one bed space that sleeps up to two in one double (or twin) bedroom with an en-suite. Also open plan with generous amounts of space and light, it's perfect for romantic couples wanting some alone time. Whether you're snuggling in front of the log burner or relaxing in the hot tub with a bottle of the finest whisky, this lodge is perfect. Available all year round for short breaks it's perfect for a quick escape from life.

Eigg Lodge has two bedrooms and is as beautiful as the other three. It sleeps up to four with one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and one twin room. Perfect for friends holidaying together or a family getaway, it's spacious, comfortable and cosy. Outside is a private decking area with seating where you can sip some cocoa and immerse yourself in the beautiful west coast.

The region is packed with spectacular scenery including the deepest freshwater loch, white sandy beaches, towering sea cliffs and rugged mountains. With plenty of wildlife and coves to explore, you won't tire of this wonderful part of the world. And at the end of the day there's whisky tasting at the distillery, delicious seafood at the Arisaig Shellfish Shack and cakes to be tested at The Tea Garden Cafe.

Excellent lodges - really high end / luxury as well as being very eco friendly. We stayed in Raasay which is somehow very secluded / private by being cleverly located in a little nook. Owners very friendly and accommodating - highly recommended.

What an amazing place to stay! The lodges are beautiful, comfortable, clean & finished to a very high quality (we stayed in Rum Lodge). The location and views are simply stunning. We can not praise or thank Darren & Jo enough - super hosts whose enthusiasm for this part of Scotland & Eco tourism is infectious. Can not recommend this place highly enough!
