The details

Retreat to the deepest depths of Oxfordshire’s enchanting country landscapes to find a story-book treehouse looking out across the woods. Perched amongst the canopy of the majestic Shotover Country Park, Cedar Hollow Treehouse is destined to leave its mark. While away your days in the magical natural tapestry, wandering through the ancient forests and mysterious, hidden valleys. Watch beautiful woodland creatures darting through the captivating open glades, before gazing up at night to spy the sparkling milky way.

The grand wooden treehouse has a finish befitting of its backdrop and blends the simplicity of nature with its impressive architecture. There are gorgeous honey-coloured timbers and elegant arched windows, formed into chapel-esque peaks and iconic castle turrets.

Luxury features are paired with whimsical touches to create a memorable hideout for drama and romance. Traverse the swinging rope bridge and climb amongst the treetops, heading down the slide and gathering around the old-worldly firepit. Play tennis in the mornings and light the BBQ at noon, dining alfresco in the pavilion and cooling off in the indoor pool.

Inside, the treehouse has a warm, studio design boasting soaring vaulted ceilings and plenty of natural light. Handcrafted woodwork hides state-of-the-art mod-cons, while vast open spaces let the views takeover. With CS Lewis’ house as your nearest neighbour, subtle hints of Narnia are even dotted across the living area. Look out for the lifelike wildlife sculptures and the vibrant patchwork quilts, along with the spellbinding wardrobe with its fanciful glint.

Cook in the bespoke handmade kitchen on its designer appliances or sit on the plush window benches and gaze across the woodlands. Pad across the heated wooden floorboards to the romantic bedroom nook, dressed with a sumptuous king-size bed and mythical look. Up the steep wooden staircase is a cosy mezzanine with two single beds. Two foldout single beds can also be set up in the main area of the treehouse if needed, while a ground floor bathroom completes the sophisticated interior.

Step out into Shotover Park to head off in search of adventure, exploring its 117 hectares of beguiling country landscapes. Horse ride through the forest or forage in the woodland. You can also have access to your own private zip wire, after heading through the Narnia wardrobe, meaning you can fly through the trees whilst watching out for Aslan. Get a shot of culture amid the spires of nearby Oxford, admiring its prestigious collegiate and medieval history. Bask in its architectural masterpieces and literary greats, before disappearing into the woods to write your own fairy-tale.

What a place. We have just come back from an amazing 4 nights staying in the Yurt at Cedar Hollow. On our first night we ordered food from Sumaq (Restaurant) which was delicious - such a treat and it was delivered right to the Yurt. If you are staying here you must order at least on one night. The accommodation had all the mod cons including a robot hoover, Dyson fans and apple TV and projector for movie nights - it was a cut above all other glamping experience. We enjoyed morning coffees in the hot tub with the kids and swimming twice a day in our own private pool. The tennis court was the best we have ever seen and we had so much fun knocking some balls about and it even had a lobster (automatic tennis ball machine). The grounds are amazing and we had great fun exploring the woodland. Add football, table tennis, firepit, trampoline, swings and a brand new Weber bbq it had everything you could want. It was a magical stay and Yaz and his family could not have been more welcoming. I would highly recommend and will be visiting again.

Stayed for the weekend with my partner and can't describe how magical the tree house is, finished to the highest standard in every way you can imagine. Yaz was always very quick to respond to any query we had. Looking forward to visiting again
