Set on a 300-acre working farm in Pembrokeshire, this cosy shepherd’s hut is perfect for a couple’s escape to the countryside. The hut was hand-built by master craftsmen and now sits in its own wild grass meadow, guaranteeing a whole lot of peace and quiet amidst beautiful rural surroundings. Wake up to the sounds of birdsong and the farm’s animals before heading out into Pembrokeshire to explore the spectacular rugged coastline. Return to your hideaway on Pencoed Farm to cook a hearty dinner on the barbecue and perhaps go for a dip in the bush bath.
Step inside through the French doors at the front, which let in plenty of light during the day, and you’ll find the interior is surprisingly spacious. There’s even room for a luxurious king-size bed in a cosy nook at the far end. The kitchen area has all of the basics to get you started and the option of ordering a breakfast hamper so you can begin your day with a full English or continental breakfast, all sourced from local producers.
There’s a wood burner to keep the interior cosy whatever the weather and all the power in the hut comes from solar panels charging a battery bank. You’ll find the bathroom in a converted horsebox that features a washbasin, flushing toilet and a walk-in shower. Fluffy towels will be waiting for you after a long, hot shower.
You can sit outside and enjoy your morning coffee in the sunshine on the deck outside the French doors, or step down into the meadow and rustle up some food on the barbecue or over the fire pit. You’ll also find your very own bush bath in the meadow, perfect for soothing any aching legs after a long walk along the coast.
