We stayed in the Gardener's Cottage for 3 nights mid August 2020. It was a wonderful stay from start to finish. Alexandra our host was welcoming, responsive over email and WhatsApp, while respecting our space and privacy. The cottage was spotless and we felt very safe knowing that it had been cleaned to the highest standards. There was also covid cleaning policy in place and we were reassured that the estate team had done their utmost to safeguard everyone. It was cleaned and checked thrice between guests! And when we arrived, it was as if everything was brand new. The fresh flowers, delicious home made brownies and bottle of wine were such a welcomed welcome treat. What a sight for sore eyes after a long drive from London. There was even a bad storm one night that we completely missed , only realised when we heard locals talk about it in the morning and the car was wet. The rooms and beds were so comfortable we didn't even know it was raining outside. The spacious kitchen was a joy to cook in, and we were lucky with good weather and had dinner in the garden. There is a burn (stream) right outside the cottage and we had fun paddling in it, and enjoyed long walks around the estate. There is also a castle which sadly we werent able to tour because of covid19 restrictions but hopefully we'll get one on our next visit. Alexandra was also super organised and sent us a curated list of local businesses before our visit, including herb majesty (started by a local mother who didn't want her children eating meat with antibiotics!) and Joelato a local gelato maker whose gelato tasted better than what we've had in Italy. What a treat to be able to try high quality local produce on Monzie recommendation. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Would love to visit again and maybe stay in the romantic Brae Cottage which was fully booked this trip. Until then, we're savouring the delicious apricot jam we got to take home with us.

Our family enjoyed the most delightful Christmas week at the Gardener’s cottage! Our visit truly exceeded all of our expectations for celebrating the holidays and will always be one of our family’s favorite memories. Alexandra so kindly decorated the cottage for our stay and it was such a delight to arrive and see everything looking so pretty with holly boughs, greenery and delicious treats. It was exactly how we imagined our Scottish Christmas to be! We loved spending evenings by the fire and the beautiful Christmas tree in our festive and cozy living room! We had a wonderful tour of the castle on Christmas Eve day. It was a gorgeous morning with frost covering the countryside and the castle beautifully decorated for the holidays. The Crichtons were so friendly and welcoming and we had a lovely time hearing family stories and the history of Monzie castle. Afterwards we were able to prepare a roasted turkey, bake pies and enjoy a wonderful family dinner (thanks to the well-appointed kitchen), and we ended Christmas Eve by attending midnight services and singing carols at nearby Monzie Kirk. Monzie is a very special place and they’ve thought of everything to make for an incredibly memorable experience. The cottage is so pretty, charming and inviting! The surrounding countryside is stunning; just walking around the grounds is amazing. The location is perfect for day trips to Stirling (we purchased all of our groceries for the holidays at a large Tesco on our way out of town), the Trossachs, the lower Cairngorms and many beautiful places in and around Crieff. We had a wonderful time exploring the area but were always happy to come back to relax at the Gardener’s cottage. It really felt like home. Monzie was the perfect place to celebrate the meaningful and quiet Christmas our family was hoping for! We can’t wait to come back.
