The details

If you are looking for the perfect hiking bolthole which is immersed in nature, you have come to the right place. The boutique retreat of Sky House can be found between the Wye Valley and the Brecon Beacons National Park, just a stone's throw from Offa's Dyke Path. This little patch of heaven with extensive tree and wildflower planting will make you feel at home and ensure you have an unforgettable stay. With sunrises from your bed, stargazing in the bath and incredible hikes straight from your door, this romantic slice of paradise has it all with none of the crowds.

Sky House sits perched atop a giant deck gazing out across the valley with the stars stretching overhead. Adorned with unusual features and every cosy comfort you could want, you won’t need to compromise on your mod cons. Think roll top bath, outdoor shower, fully equipped kitchen, indoor flushing toilet and a wood burning stove with oven and hob. If you prefer to eat out, there is a Michelin guide pub on your doorstep, the best of both worlds!

You will also discover a whole bunch of art materials and an easel under the bed, what's not to love? While away the afternoon with a glass of wine whilst you rustle up something delicious or set up the easel on the decking and try to capture the stunning landscape. In the evenings, stargazing is a must. Get snug in the deck net with some cosy blankets and enjoy the spectacular display from one of the world’s eighteen Dark Sky reserves. The large circular window atop the yurt ensures that even from your bed you won’t miss a thing. The sunrises are equally beautiful and especially wonderful in the autumn and winter months when the sun rises straight up to greet you at a sociable hour as you lounge in bed!

Whether your preference is the sky, land or water, you can enjoy the landscape from the air, bike, horse and of course on foot. From your cosy yurt, you can literally walk up the 'garden path' onto the infamous 'Cat's Back' and then on to the Brecon Beacon's National Park. It's also only a stone’s throw to water-based adventure on the River Wye, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
