From the moment we arrived at the Luxury Hideout Treehouse at Sleepy Owl, we knew we were in for something truly special. Nestled in the Devon countryside, this place makes you feel like you've stumbled onto something amazing. Luxurious, peaceful, and full of thoughtful touches that make it unforgettable. Every detail has been so carefully considered. The private hot tub overlooking the trees was absolute perfection, especially in the evening with a glass of wine under the stars. Inside, the decor has a rustic charm with high-end comfort and the standout for me was the stunning copper bathtub that can be wheeled out onto the decking straight from the bedroom! We also loved the fun extras, a popcorn machine and Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser made our movie night on the cinema projector which made you feel like you're on a private luxury retreat. It’s these small but special touches that make the experience so memorable. As a dog owner, I really appreciated how dog-friendly everything was. Our little Jack Russell was provided with a dog bed, toys and treats with plenty of outside space for her to roam. The owner Jay and team member Lucy were incredible, they were warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making every guest’s stay perfect. Nothing was too much trouble, and their hospitality made us feel completely at home. If you’re looking for a stay that combines total luxury, peace, and a touch of magic, this is it. I can’t recommend it highly enough we left feeling completely recharged and can’t wait to come back.

We’ve had the pleasure of staying at The Sleepy Owl several times now, and while each of the three properties has its own charm, The Hideout completely stole our hearts. It’s tucked away in the trees, beautifully designed, and feels like a little world of its own. Inside, the layout is perfect — a cosy open-plan living space with a log burner for chilly evenings, a projector screen that drops down for movie nights, and even a rotating TV you can watch from the sofa or the bed. Every inch of it feels thoughtful and beautifully put together. The sliding copper bath is the real showstopper — nothing beats lying there with the doors open, surrounded by nature. Outside, you’ve got a wood-fired hot tub, outdoor shower, and pizza oven for those slow, peaceful evenings. Jay, the owner, goes above and beyond to make sure every stay feels special. From optional extras like a popcorn machine, velvetiser, private chef or massage, to how dog friendly it is — there’s even a doggy box with treats, light-up collars, towels, blankets, a special doggy first aid kit, and an outdoor dog bath. If you’re looking for a stay that’s peaceful, romantic, and truly one of a kind this place is for you. Tina & Simon
