The details

Housing two, Tiny Home Borders is a gorgeous romantic retreat perfect for any couple. Immersed in the beautiful scenery of the Scottish Borders, Tiny Home Borders benefits from an array of impressive outdoor furnishings, from the Scandinavian wood-fired hot tub to the ‘Greta’ outdoor cooker, doubling up as a BBQ and a pizza oven for budding chefs. With a private Lochan, guests can sample paddleboarding for a truly wild experience, or equally, enjoy an afternoon of yoga with views of the southern slopes of Rubers Law. Totally uninterrupted by the hustle and bustle, Tiny Homes Borders is a peaceful trip away from reality.

Hosting a double bed complete with luxurious bedding and enough blankets to sink a ship, Tiny Home Borders is a cosy bolthole. Inside, the kitchen is furnished with a fridge and a gas cooker, and all the rooms are powered using solar-powered 240v sockets. Though the shower promises limited hot water, the Swedish woodfired hot tub outdoors promises relaxation under the stars.

The outdoor area is wildly impressive, featuring a large deck area with outdoor furniture, a log burner, the ‘Greta’ Swedish outdoor cooker, BBQ and pizza oven and, of course, the opulent Scandinavian hot tub. Impressively, Tiny Home Borders hosts its own Lochan, perfect for wild swimming. Paddleboards are provided, alongside everyday essentials including tea and coffee, milk, bread, butter and cooking oil, and unlimited wood, kindling, fire-lighters and matches. Towels, slippers and robes are also supplied for the ultimate cosy experience. The cabin also hosts a variety of games for a sociable evening in, and the mobile signal is strong, with selective networks allowing 4G.

Found in the midst of Rubers Law in the Scottish Borders, Tiny Home Borders is the quintessential Scottish retreat. Inundated with historical sites including Abbotsford, The Home of Sir Walter Scott, Melrose Abbey, Jedburgh Abbey, Dryburgh Abbey and the Mary Queen of Scot’s Visitors Centre, guests will be spoilt for choice. Scott’s View and Eildon Hill boast impeccable views of the slopes of Rubers Law, with the 15th-century Smailholm Tower housing similarly impressive hilltop snapshots.

We arrived for a long weekend just as the snow hit. The cabin was lovely and cosy, plenty room to cook your meals. The outdoor logfired bath was tremendous and the walks up the hill (for the panoramic view) and to the woods were fantastic. We've booked again for 2023 and can't wait to use the lake and outdoor area and bbq. Lastly, the hosts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. It's a no brainer to recommend.

We stayed at the tiny home recently and absolutely loved staying in this unique place, the location is stunning and so peaceful. The house is so well equipped and the owners have thought of everything, the quality of all the furnishings, bedding, kitchen ware is of the highest standard and really made our stay extra special. The views from the hot tub are incredible and we can’t wait to visit again.
